Finding a Way

How sweet it is!!!!!!!!

How sweet it is...........
On June 13th, The NET "Resilience" played the recovery kings for first place in the recovery league.
Upon arrival it was obvious that everyone was hyped up and ready to battle but the "Resilience " was in top form. They have a secret weapon and her name is Serena Daniels. As most men often do , the opposing team totally underestimated her and she made them pay at every turn. The Resilience's' pitcher was masterful.
He struck men out at will and seemed to take all the fight out of them.
At the top of the third inning the Resilience were ahead by 4-2
At the top of the 5th inning it was the Resilience by 7-3
At the top of the 6th the Resilience mercilessly led by 10-3
The final score was 15 -4.
Yes, how sweet it is...........

4 and 0 and moving forward

On May 30th the "Resilience" won their 4th game by forfeit over the Northeast Team. This brings us to a 4and 0 record and it seems like
we can't be stopped!!

The hits just keep on coming!!!

It seems like the "Resilience" can't be stopped. Against " Einstein" on May 23 they stacked up an awesome 21 runs to zero.
That took us to 3and 0.

At the next game on May 30th against the Northeast team, we won by forfeit..
This brings us to 4and 0.

We did it again!!!!!!

The Net "Resilience" did it again!!!!!!! On Saturday the 16th of may, they won their second game in a row by a score of 9 to 5. Even though it's the beginning of the season and the "Resilience" are a new team, their performances so far have been excellent. I'm sure the competition will get harder but with a start like this we can't help but be optimistic..............

Off and Running......The NET Resilience

                                                                                  Off and Running......
Net "Resilients" win opener!!!!
Net's recovery soft ball team(aka"The Resilients"), won their inaugural game over 'Minute by Minute" in Philadelphia's Recovery Softball league. The Resilients won the game 5 to 1.
Peer Specialist Eric Sanders had the team's very first hit, run and RBI on the team's first home run.
Peer Specialist Marzal Brickhouse followed with a two-run homer to open a 3 to 0 lead in the first inning.
Derrick Stokes pitched a masterful game, holding the opposition to just one unearned run.
Derrick also homered in the second inning. From the look of things we are definitely....... off and running!!

The second annual Recovery Recognition Day Celebration

On April 8th, 2009 Northeast Treatment Center celebrated our second annual Recovery Recognition Day.
Mere words cannot suffice to portray this occasion. There were smiles everywhere. Pride, dignity and feelings of accomplishment were in the air. Everyone was dressed in their finest and those who attended for the first time were in awe. Happiness spread throughout the room as everyone arrived seeing old and new friends. Alumni returned to take part and by their presence continued to validate what we do at the NET. I
looked in the faces of the guest speakers as they watched everyone arrive and on their faces was a look of contentment
and pride-it was obvious that they felt honored to play a part and they spoke from the heart as they heaped praises upon the consumers and those who have moved forward into employment at the NET.As everyone spoke the theme stayed the same-there was an inherent pride in being part of the NET.
The sense and feeling of family was in the room, there were hugs, kisses and hand shakes everywhere.
As the evening drew to a close is was apparent that no one wanted to leave. Recovery is fueled by the camaraderie, the fellowship and the intimate relationships that develop with us all. At the NET we have all become part of a team- but a team like no other, we get to see lives reawakened and dreams fulfilled. So many of us marvel at how far we've come and eagerly look forward to what the future brings......
Until next year.......When we do it again...............................Gil G.

The 2nd Annual Recovery Recognition Day Celebration

The2nd annual Recovery Recognition Day Celebration.......

On April 8th, Northeast Treatment Centers will be celebrating their second annual Recovery Recognition Day Celebration.
Our monthly celebrations are a spectacle to behold, but for our annual celebration we go all out. There is a lavish hall by the name of the Casbah that we rent. The food is top notch and catered by the best. Some of the most talented in our field come to speak and share
and then there's the most important part-the people who inspired this affair. On this night everyone comes dressed in their very best. The looks of pride and dignity on the faces of those who a short while ago had no hope are priceless.
Transformations truly take place at the NET. These affairs are a showcase for what the NET has done and they offer a wellspring of hope and vision for the future.
There are two things that are the very best part of these affairs for me:
#1. The entrance-when everyone first arrives, the look of pride and accomplishment is evident. The changes and hard work that have brought them to this point shines on their faces as they look around in wonder with smiles that light up the room. The therapists, peer specialists, residential managers and directors beam with pride at those who a short time ago were hopeless and now stand tall. The work that everyone has done is validated at these affairs and cemented in our minds for a lifetime.
#2. Even before the affair begins the beauty of fellowship is evident as old acquaintances are renewed and alumni return to take part and give back what they have learned. For some this is the first time in their lives that they have attended an affair such as this as they look around in awe. To some it's akin to coming home- coming home to a place that's safe and holds your fondest memories. There is laughter, applause, awards and tears- but only tears of surprise and happiness as accomplishments are recognized and old friends are seen again. For those who do not know, I am here to tell you that there is recovery taking place
and it takes place at the NET........
